If you want to have your work published in magazines, then you must take time to read several issues of a magazine you plan to submit to.
Every magazine has its nuances, even magazines, such as ones aimed at teen girls, that at first glance seem pretty similar.
Check out the ads, the articles, the fiction if it’s included. Look for special reader contribution departments and columns.
Find the area that talks about how to submit material, where the writer’s guidelines can be found, and what type of copyright permissions are involved.

Summer
By Talia Rosenstrauch
At 6 on Friday, after lying in bed for a while,
my face grew a smile.
After 220 days of torture,
I now had more time to slumber.
Seventy days to do whatever I want.
I could even open up a restaurant!
It might not be successful,
but I might earn enough to buy a towel.
Speaking of towels,
I need to buy goggles.
Then, I’ll go to the pool,
it’s nowhere near my school.
I’ll become a much better swimmer,
there’ll be no need to be a thinker.
It’s all so exciting!
The only bad part is it’ll be boiling!
When I’m not wet, how will I deal with the heat?
Will I have to admit defeat?
Like right about now,
I already have sweat on my eyebrow!
Heat makes me so tired.
I think all my energy has already expired.
Maybe I’ll just go to bed.
After all I have a whole summer ahead.
